Google using unfair marketing for Chrome?
« on: February 08, 2010, 04:32:23 AM »
I've noticed that Google is advertising the shit out of Chrome all over Youtube and every time I use IE for whatever reason it shows an ad on the top right corner of Google showing to use Chrome. It has more users than Opera now. Firefox is becoming used more and more without a shit load of advertising and despite all of Microsoft's advertising IE is still slowly shrinking. With Chrome extinctions and themes it seems that they are trying what Firefox is doing right now. I don't know about you but to me it seems like Google is stabbing Mozilla in the back which is bull shit because Google used to recommend using Firefox and Mozilla used to recommend using Google. Not to mention that Google has billions of more dollars than both Mozilla and Opera. If the strategies by the current browsers continue, who do you think will be on top in let's say, 5 years.

Pic by myself. It's a little pixely but it does its job.

I was talking about the browser and their OS sucks... Even if it was more stable it wasn't built for desktops or laptops but for extremely cheap netbooks.

for Browsers I see Apple & Firefox becoming the best ones yet. & for OS will Ubuntu (Linux distro) & Chrome will be the ones that give Apple a run for its money ;)

Apple sucks, their OS sucks, their browser sucks. simple as that. Windows will always be better than Apple. Vista was better than the current Apple OS

anyways on topic, Google has the right to do that, Google owns Youtube. Firefox is better than anything out there for browsing. I wont bother with any kind of Google OS or browser, its bad enough I use Youtube. IE is ass, plain and simple, the only worse major name browser I ever used was Netscape.

XP Pro is still my favorite. I don't think my fascination for it will ever change.

Same here. I liked using 7 but when I tested the beta on my laptop it didn't run well. I didn't expect it too though sense it has a 1.7ghz P4 processor and 1.25 gb of ram which is over clocking it lol.

Windows XP performance edition sp3 <--- look on Google.com for this ;) FYI it is a hacked down version of XP that is very stable & fast install is less then 300-400mbs

But yeah back on topic...

Linux distro's will be taking over more then ever in 2010-2012

Microsoft will only be goof for there office products such as word, excel & outlook + more

Google, Apple & Linux will be butting heads but Linux will come out on top... Why you ask ?

Linux is open source (FREE)

& there will always people people making new distros & adding to the Linux library of tools. I would not be surprised if the shell of Chrome is in fact a BSD kernel with a nice GUI & google logos :)~

Sure Linux is free but the reason why people are sticking with Windows is because it's easier to use and the fact that more programs are made for it. Also in my experience Windows is a lot more stable than Linux. Ubuntu has crashed on me twice and when I ran it live it froze up countless times. Sure Linux is free but it's free for a reason. It's simply not as good.
