looked at the tutorial many times.  alcohol won't recognize the cue image.  burnatonce and nero burns discs that show up as audio discs in dreamcast console.  the selfboot cdi images on here are great but the other formats i'm having a tough time.  are fur fighters (mds, mdf) and wacky races (cue, bin) not self-boot?  do i need another disc to load these games?  thanks for your help.  you guys are fantastic! ;D

Apparently this is a pretty error filled repack, quite a few have been having trouble.  I'll see if I can get a clean copy of it.

There is a PAL release of this too, but posting the NFO here doesn't seem to work. It is by ALPAX, I had no luck in hunting it down but it is in the UG torrent.

thanks!  i'll give it a try.

btw, is it safe to say that if it is not .cdi format then you need utopia's boot loader.  maybe that was the problem.  i have yet to download and make a disc of utopia's boot loader.  i'm just a little confused on what is self-boot and what requires a boot loader.

yeah i just tried utopia with one of the wacky races cds i made yesterday and it worked.   :-[

selfboot means it starts without a boot loader cd
nonselfboot means it need the boot loader cd to start the game

Wacky Races
Dream Resurrection

Dream Resurrection or DCRES is a project maintained by TuxTheWise. The goal is making high quality releases, caring about dummy (faster loadings), file order (GD or custom that makes loadings faster and reader noise quieter), downsampling (the best quality with available space) and selfboot. Please always see readme files of each game, they always have important information. Feedback? Suggestions? Problems? Fell free to send a PM.

NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.

Wacky Races (NTSC-U)
--------------------
Ripped: Nothing (read the notes below).
Downsampled: Nothing.
Source: Kalisto's release (oRARs) and PAL GD dump.

==========
ATTENTION:
==========
This NTSC-U version of the game has three languages: English, French and Spanish, but there is no
language selector inside the game. The language is selected according to the configuration of your
Dreamcast BIOS. There are two images, use the correct one or your game will be unplayable:

* Wacky Races (French, Spanish) - DCRES.cdi -> If your BIOS is configured as French or Spanish.
* Wacky Races (English) - DCRES.cdi -> If your BIOS is configured to any other language.

=================================================
You don't have to read anything below this point:
=================================================

I was having some trouble optimizing this game because a lot of data is streamed at the same time.
Loading times has music playing, and in the game both music and voices are streamed on-the-fly. It
was causing a lot of laser movement. Additionally, there were 3 voices packs for each language of
around 70mb each. Well, I have arranged file order to make streaming as easy as possible. The
result got very acceptable (mainly if you compare with original Kalisto's disc), but reader noise
was still bothering. So I decided splitting the files, and the result got great. English disc got
great. The other disc got very nice. If you compare them to the original Kalisto's release, you'll
notice a great change. If you have ever played this game, you'll definitely want to grab this
release now!

I tried making a PAL release of this game, but it only boots on 50hz (it does let you change
frequency to 60hz, but only on options menu) so I had to use NTSC-U. As I couldn't find the NTSC-U
GD dump of this game, I used Kalisto's release.

Oh, and this game will work nice on PAL consoles and will already boot in 60hz.

Have fun with another quality release.

Features of my release:
- Not corrupted files at all, it was made with Kalisto's oRARs.
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.

About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.

Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with covers.

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.

Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.
