XBOX LIVE IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN PSN!!!
The arcade games on the PS3 suck ass, Hardly any one plays online, you can't voice chat while playing a game. Only thing I can think of that the PSN has over XBOX live is the price.
Why would I want to pay $399 for the PS3 while the cheapest XBOX for $199 can play about 90% of the PS3's game library.
and then you will probably talk about the 3 red rings of death while ignoring the disc read errors that the PS2 had and how many times you gave your NES games a blow job.
Sounds like you've got some sand in your vagina. If you spend a lot of time playing arcade games on your next gen console I think you're a douche. I never had the 3 red rings, but I did have a ps2 that developed disc read errors. I opened it up and fixed it in about an hour, really really not a big deal.
I didn't buy a game console to play online, thats a bonus I guess. I have "real life" friends to play video games with. And no voice chat while in game? I have a cell phone! Not like I'd want to talk to anybody while playing anyway.
Have gamers really taken 2 completely opposite paths these days?
Things I care about:
1. Paying once, not BUTT FUCKING MONTHLY. My console and my credit card don't team up and jointly go on the rag.
2. Playing a game without people disturbing me. Not chit chatting, gossiping, or otherwise giving a shit about what anyone else has to say unless they're sitting on the couch with me.
3. Playing new games with new graphics that wow and amaze me, and getting sucked into the game.
Not paying money for games I played 10 years ago and can download for free on my PC. Not changing discs (although this isn't actually that big of a deal).
4. Not wishing MGS4 would come out for the console I own.
5. Not missing out on a consoles features because I only had enough money to buy the starter model that didn't come with a hard drive.
6. PSN home, which is supposed to be out this year.
7. Having the option, although I don't need it, to play blu-ray
8. Having the option to integrate my electronic devices together, like transferring files back and forth from my pc with a crossover cable, and using my portable system.
9. Being able to browse the internet from my console when I'm too lazy to get off the couch.
Now I'm sure that in the 3 or 4 months since I've owned a 360 it has drastically changed and most of these issues are resolved.

edit
and hey by the way coolmac, this isn't meant as an attack on you man. I just really hated my 360. I mean REALLY hated the fucking thing. That and I actually love my ps3 a little bit more than I loved my genesis back in the day.
