I think it has something to do with being tied together with 128bit.me, thought that site is not almost as inactive as this site.
Actually until this year, they were hosted separately. Let's just say it's a little easier on the wallet now that they're on the same server. I just love you guys too much to say goodbye.
I don't really have the time to fully manage this kind of site anymore and it's a lot less relevant than before and we just can't compete aside from having a cool community.
Emuparadise now hosts every console as free, fast, direct downloads of all the consoles 128bit.me and Segahub can have. I could never do direct downloads - I can't risk my whole life just to do something someone else is already doing.
The day Segahub is off the web will be a sad one. I think I've been running it for 10 years now. I honestly think it's one of the oldest continually running "illegal" sites on the web. Even Snesorama shut down after the Megaupload fiasco.
