time for a new dreamcast dude. if your buying on ebay you gotta ask each buyer tons of questions about the history of the system and whats been done to it. no point in buying a dreamcast that played 10000 cd-rs in its day.

are the later dreamcasts pirate proof? i thought i read something like dreamcasts made after october 2000 cant run cd-rs or its more difficult to play them or something. i would try to get one of those, maybe the black sports edition console. the less wear and tear previously the better it is for you bruh

That sucks man. Is it happening on every game or was this a one-time occurrence?

The nerd in me is somehow interested in this as I've never really seen it on a console.

This only happens with Shenmue. My Dreamcast previously wouldn't read any games likely due to cd-r use, but I spent a lot of time tweaking the pot, finally fixing it. My assumption is that it needs a bit more tweaking, but at the same time it doesn't make much sense for that to be causing the issue.
