Dreamcast SCART works on one TV but not another -Help please
« on: March 25, 2011, 03:21:12 PM »
Hi there. I just bought a Dreamcast SCART cable but something thats very annoying is that on the TV in my room, I get sound fine but the picture is really dim, can barely seen anything. Just to test things out, I tried plugging in my PS2 instead and that worked perfectly fine so I thought it might be the cable but I thought I'd test out the Dreamcast with the SCART cable on the TV in my living room and it worked perfectly fine there (picture and sound were perfect) so I'm very confused now so can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

Other than the obvious that your cable doesn't like your tv, I'm not sure...

Well, I had a look at the leaflet that came with the Scart cable. It says "Connect the Dreamcast Scart cable to the socket that supports RGB input (usually Scart 1). Note that the Dreamcast display (video) may not be visible if the Scart cable is connected to a Scart socket that does not support RGB input." but what is confusing me, doesn't the PS2 Scart cable output in RGB? So why doesn't it work?

Playstation scarts are a bit shit, that is why films on PS2 play in green and imports on PS1 play in black and white.

Try cleaning the cable terminals and the back of the telly.
