Author Topic: So I thought I burned games correctly but..... Please help (Read 10610 times)

So I thought I had done a pretty good job of following the directions in the tutorials and everything but when I try to load up the games with a boot disc it goes right back to the DC menu screen. There are files on the disc because I can go to the CD player and see about 40 tracks there. Anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong?

No problem. Have you burnt any games correctly? If you haven't, it would probably be easier to burn a self bootable game first. Which tutorial did you follow?

P2M for one game and the extracting original rars for the others. I have attempted 4 games with no success

ok I will try that. If it doesn't work I'll assume I'm doing something wrong when downloading/extracting the files. Although I have been able to break it down to get a cdi file so I think I am doing that right.

still no luck I used the 102 dalmations mdf file that I had extracted from the file on the P2M here and it did not work.

I think I'm giving up on this for now

so I got a cdi of this to burn http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=92.0 only I dont get the game to work just the guy who made the d/l open credits that he put in front of it then it goes to load the game and all I have is a black screen and now I am out of blank cds

So it does boot up, just won't get past the credits? That's frustrating.. hmm. I can only speculate, but did you make sure to burn it slowly? I'm not really sure why that would happen.

yea burned it at 4x o well at least I got something to boot up. Ill have to get some blanks and try with a different game. I still cant figure out why the 102 dalmations didnt work though but thats no big deal I didn't actually want to play that was just using to try and figure out how to do the P2M.

p.s. I'm burning cd-rs with x12 speed and getting far less c1 errors than on other speeds. On x4 i've got more than 40k c1 errors !! And fmvs on my Saturn weren't working correctly

well it was the P2M game that I found I was just trying to figure out how to work it all out. Plus I have crazy OCD and would want to collect all the games even if I don't paly them. A waste of time and space yes however it would always before me if it was out there and I didnt just d/l it

Your suppposed to burn dreamcast Isos at the slowest speed...
Trust me on this one ive burned over 25 dc isos myself using the 120....

I guess Ive been logged on for several days and didnt know it. I started to log on today and noticed I already was. I tried to log off and it still wont let me. Can someone help me out here?

If logout at the top doesn't work you need to clear your cookies I guess.

no.
it is used to protect your computer.
but sometimes stuff which you want to keep is infected and it is in the vault.

deleting stuff from there will remove the files without hurting your computer.
but delete them
not put them back from where they came from.

Im new to this but had better luck burnig MDF with Alc 120..I suspect you may have a missing file of some sort...should be MDF and MdS
