I recently ordered some stuff from dealextreme to perform the internal photofast mod on my psp 2000.
Since I had to take the psp apart anyway, I also ordered a new faceplate.

Despite the positive reviews, so far, i'm not impressed with it.
It fits the psp ok, but it seems to be thicker than the original as the buttons don't protrude as far from the top
and there seems to be some slight misalignment since pressing the volume + button dead center causes the
psp to shut down.
The clear polycarbonate over the screen is made of a cheaper quallity materal since it's already
got some light scratches and it doesn't blend in with the rest of the faceplate as well as the original.
In other words, It suck ass and I don't like it.
I'm almost tempted to swap back to the original faceplate.
Since it was only $6.00, I guess I should have known better, but the positive reviews
kind of threw me off guard. I guess people are happy with crap.
So, Are there any faceplates that are worth cheching out?
I don't mind paying more if it means that I can get one with at least the same build quallity
as the original stock sony faceplate.
Right now, i'm checking out the XCM chrome faceplate.
http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_psp_slim_face_plate_chrome.htm
It looks decent so far and the XCM 1080p component to vga adapter I have is built pretty solid,
so it seems like it could be a worthy replacement.
Anyone have any suggestions?
