Yeah that is really cool man ... I just wonder what else you can do with it besides what they've shown so far ... a better video to watch is the real deal, not just a parody of it:

The real one was cool, I laughed hysterically when I saw the parody this morning though.

yeah the parody one was pretty funny :)

"What ... are you doing? ... are you hurting her? That doesn't seem like it would fit ... !"
hahaha

but the real project is pretty cool, I just wonder how much you can actually talk to that kid about ... there has to be a limit, and in the demo the girl that did it probably knew what those limits were.

I mean "I love you Pikachu 64" is a good example of the limits ... you could only tell him like 5 words, that was it lol!

Because it's Peter Molyneux and none of the people that work in his office are American lol!

I'm with you though, this is just another reason to stay inside ... why don't I just go walk outside and talk to someone I don't know? That'd save me, what, $500 from buying this garbage? It's still kinda cool though ... I could see them using something like this for like ... service desk help or a kiosk for directions in a mall or something.

I wanna know how the AI works, the freaking kid said "Thousands of people" after the player said it ... did they put those words into the system? I don't understand how it really works. Voices being interpreted clearly and repeated back, it's kinda incredible if you think about it. Like I said I just wonder what the limits are with this project.

You could say that about anything. It just depends on your point of view. A drug addict is still experiencing real life, as is someone who never leaves their house.

Milo's a little kid, so I'm assuming that they picked a voice that sounded young and slightly cute.
For that kind of effect. Anyhow, I'm not interested in how they go with just Milo, I'm interested in seeing where the whole Project Natal thing is headed.

Because no one speaks african languages out side of africa. ::) English is universal and the american accent is soo overplayed in video games.

Why can't he have an African voice? Because they're marketing Milo primarily to English speaking people at the moment. Why does it have to be any more complicated than that?

Yeah that was kinda unrelated to bring up anything on Obama in this topic ...

This doesn't mean they won't work on other languages, other versions etc. English (American or UK) is a very common language, the people that were working on this project were probably all primarily English so it made it easier for them to work with etc. Translating comes later, as well as other children in this game to talk to perhaps.
