Thanks a Zillion
« on: August 26, 2007, 12:39:40 AM »
I wish there would have been an update of the series Zillion, way back on the SMS.  I would have loved for it to been on DC, it could have been a 2d 3d kind of thing, but keeping most of the gameplay dynamics, hell,  a 3d Alex Kidd would have made me soil myself, Sega had some great game ideas way back when, ones I like better than Sonic by far. The Dreamcast should have revived some of those extremely fun games, kind of like the Sega ages games in Japan for ps2. Wonder Boy in monsterland? I might just be a little too fond of the Japanese design aesthetic, but those were some super fun games!

Where's a sequel to Comix Zone?  How about that?

That would be cool, but Id rather go waaaaaaaaaaay back in the Sega vault, Alex Kidd was Sega's answer to Mario, and his games were much funner to me, well, all except the damned Janken game, paper scissors rock.  Alex Kid in Miracle World hooked me on Sega way back in 86. I remember seeing the name Sega as far back as when I was 4 on an arcade cabinet. Nintendo may have had the edge console wise, but Sega was highly visible in arcades everywhere. Nintendo did have their few though. Zillion was actually an anime, so I think that may have been the first anime based game I had ever seen.
Wonder Boy has had several fun incarnations too, but no one except hardcore dinosaurs like me remember them.
