Daytona USA Saturn version - unbeatable level?

This is about the original version of Daytona that launched with the Saturn, not the Championship Circuit Edition. A while back I tried playing the first track on maximum difficulty and after countless attempts, I couldn't finish in first place. Even after days of practise, 6th was my best result iirc. At first I figured there was a technique I wasn't using but then I looked at some of the elite players' races on youtube (arcade version) and they weren't doing anything different. Eventually my times were starting to get into that "specialist" bracket and still, I couldn't finish first. It was ridiculous, so I gave up and started asking around on different forums; no one seems to have beaten it.

My growing suspicion is that with the game being jump-released for the Saturn's launch, AM2 incorrectly set the CPU level by mistake, either making the race impossible to win on the highest difficulty or requiring an absolutely world-class run. Has anyone here beaten it or do you know someone who has?

I know my times greatly improved using manual transmission.  That's about all the advice I can give, sorry  .

I never accept anything besides victory. it is doable, cause I never had CCE until last year and I cleared the entire game without cheating, sory to say I dont remember specific techniques, I guess you just need to be made of atleast 85 percent evil in order to do it as I am 99.65 percent evil.
