Sega Announces Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing
« on: May 29, 2009, 11:28:18 AM »
Famous Sega characters go head-to-head in a new kart racer.

The Sega Blog has announced that Sonic and his friends will once again be starring in a racing game. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing features a who's who of well-known Sega characters kart racing for glory. It's coming for the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and DS in 2010. So far we know that Sonic, Tails, Eggman, AiAi, and Amigo will be making appearances on the tracks, which look pretty colorful and take advantage of Sega properties.

The game is said to feature 4-player split-screen play or 8-player online play. Additionally, each character has their own "All Star" move in addition to the batch of power-ups that can be found around the tracks. You might be wondering to yourself why Sonic even needs a car to take part in a race, but you would apparently be forgetting Sonic Rivals, which EGM called "an old-school Sonic game minus anything that made those games good." We'll be watching this one closely and hoping that it's much better.
