Hey guys...I'm Raysie a Global Moderator from ThePurpleCube.

I wanted to ask a question, what the hell happened here? I notice at the bottom of the homepage of SegaHub you guys had high amount of online members and this looked like quite an active forum.

I really don't understand what happened here...there will always be a huge number of Sega fans out there.

Well anyway.....we gotta get this site back up to it's former glory.....and I'll try and help out. Starting with this topic.

What happened... well there were a few spin off sites. Then some of our regulars started drifting, then we had a shit ton of drama. I think most of the regulars just migrated to *cough* other sites.

I read you got your wii modded....that's good to hear..if ou have any problems just ask away mate.

This place is an awesome place! I just can't beleive there aren't as many people here.

I'll try my best to make this place a little more active. I know a moderator on ThePurpleCube that loves this place, but doesn't like how this place isn't active enough. I'll tell him to come here and start some new discussions...and stuff like that.

No.....It's actually none of them. I mean.....they do like the site, it's just not the moderator I'm talking about. His nickname is Grimangel, he loves this place!

I really don't know what happened to Mr.Giggity....I havn't seen him on ThePurpleCube since the start of April....It's like he's dissapeared from the face of the earth

Anyway..I recently came to this site because I'm bidding for a DC at the moment on ebay...I'm hoping I win it.

I've been wanting a DC since the day it got released, but it was always looked at as the future console that was too expensive. As soon as I heard I don't even need a modchip to play DC game backups...I was like.."F*&k this..I'm gonna get a dreamcast" LOL

My guess is Dreamcast is only for the few and forgotten, just as the system itself. Also, we had a lil conflict between Members vs Mods (locking down topics and banning included). This was sad and rather unsettling for me because I had a nice friendly bond with everyone here til that point. But afterward rose a shining group of young loyal gentlemen that have been here with me since day 1, and you can find them all at #segahub via terra.starfusion.org on IRC.

Members vs Mods...that's not good at all.

I never pictured anything like that would happen here...why'd it happen?

EDIT: The IRC for Segahub looks very lonely..and is run by a guy nicknamed JonSyn and his annoying bot...nicknamed "ziltoid".

1 Member and 1 mod then a bunch of d-bags started spamming the forum in protest so they were removed.

I think the decline of the site is because DC ISOs are so easy to get now and big internet connections, hard drives and cheap DVDs mean collectors just download a full set torrent.

I wouldn't set foot in the irc if someone offered me money to do it. Not that I ever liked it.
Jpnsyn spammed the board like nobody else, kept calling me out (like an internet war or something) but did nothing but post nonsense and porn. I almost left the site because of that. I locked several topics, tried at least to keep the flaming directed at me so we wouldn't lose any members. Then evil elite who changed his name to willplayer up there got in on it, then Mesh got in on it, but the guy kept creating new user names after being banned.
Thats the point where I said fuck it, being a moderator is bullshit, and now I don't moderate anything except move misplaced topics.
I could go on about this, but i won't.

Yup, you don't need an account to download games. No point in making those people register. If you guys talk about something, I'll join in, I just don't really have time to start topics of my own or read through old ones. If you look on thepurplecube you won't see any long posts of mine or me starting new threads either.

btw, that most online record is kinda BS, someone was browsing that the site that had a different IP every page the loaded, so there would be like 50 IPs from one user

yeah it kinda sucks alot of the traffic on this site has kinda died down. I use to post more but I've been workin full time now, and i've downloaded almost every DC game in existance now.
