Hi everyone
« on: August 21, 2007, 08:45:09 PM »
I'm a Dreamcast enthuthiast like many of you.
I'm glad I found a Dreamcast comunity to contribute to.
I work as a Software Developer and that is how I was introduced to this great console, I look forward to helping out and doing my share on this site. One of my hobbies is HardWare - so if you have problems with your DC let me know and maybe I can help out.

Overclocking a DC is easy, on Ver. 0 and Ver.1 of the Dreamcast.
The problem is that you might have to Overclock your VMU in order for it work 100% of the time.
Ver. 2 of the Dreamcast is a little more picky about its clock frequency. Most of the Ver. 2 that I've tried wont even boot up to the main DC menu if the clock frequency is not the factory default.

Wow you can overclock a vmu?! lol what's that like?

this doesn't have an impact performance-wise, but only on the stability and correct functionality of the vmu and console. if you use a normal vmu in an overclocked dc, stuff like bad memory savings and loadings can happen. correct me uca, should i be wrong ;)
Be a noob! Don't read the FAQ!!!

i'm outta here...

So overclocking a vmu overclocks the Dreamcast in response?

It's ok Hiro lol I was just wondering where it went! I was hoping I wasn't just seeing things!
