Thinking about selling a ps3
« on: January 21, 2009, 11:10:51 AM »
I don't know if I'm going to or not, but I'm thinking about $400 for a 40gb ps3 with assassins creed, oblivion goty, fight night round 3 and some lame ass baseball game. I know nobody on here has any money, so I'll probably just stick it on ebay if I actually sell it. I'm fucking bored with current console gaming lately. Pictures if anyone asks.

So what are your plans buddy? You thinking of going back to the good ol' days with NES/SNES/Genesis and just forget all about next gen stuff? You have to admit that A's Creed and Oblivion were incredible games. I'm right there with you, I'm tired of some of the overhype and then later the disappointment that some video game brings. I'd appreciate it more if they focused more on gameplay and not so much the graphics. We're in a real world, so why the hell would we care to see something parallel to what we live in?

Yeah your right Will, I may just sell the ps3 and pick up a 360 to play the few current titles I like, they're so cheap now there's really no reason not to.  I'd still have enough money to buy some old consoles too.

Sounds like a good deal. Personally I like 360 but I am just rather upset with MS for their marketing and limits. And a lot of games are FPS now thanks to Halo. Bittersweet, I mean there are some good FPS games, but what happened to platformers? Those were neat.

:O to break it.

lol ... that's true :D like with GTA's and beating up cops

Yeah I really don't care for traditional FPS's. PS3 kind of pisses me off, whats the point in having a "graphically superior" console if most of the third party games are just ported badly. Assassins Creed stutters like a bitch.

Well for starters i'd need a transformer for the power conversion, but the main thing is that the games they sell in Australia happen to be PAL, so it just couldn't happen

good grief, when did you start the auction? I'm not thinking a very long time ago ... you won't get much of a response if you only start it at 24 hours. You have to give it at least 3-5 days so people can kinda sit and think about it. That's when you'll get watchers. I don't think that's a bad price but I'd even set it at $400 buy it now and just see what happens because then at least you'd get that much out of it. Isn't 40 gig one of the lesser-wanted ps3's though?

Yeah, no backwards compatibility with ps2 games.
I think you told me once before that 24 hour auctions aren't very effective, but I'm impulsive and impatient. So while I believe your right, I'd probably opt for 1 hour auctions if they were offered. :D

LOL ;D I seriously don't blame you for wanting the money now. But like I've said, the best opportunities for someone to watch the auction is during the first 5-7 days of you posting it up and the last 5-10 hours of the auction's life. The longer the better. I know it feels like forever and I know it's just killing you but you just gotta make a sacrifice! It'll be worth it in the end. :)

Well I've got 2 watchers right now so I'm guessing it'll sell.
What I don't get is, how come everytime I sell a more expensive console I get emails from people asking me how much I charge to ship to the Phillipines, etc... when "I only ship to U.S. locations" is clearly stated in the auction. And to make matters worse, I always get some asshole asking me for my paypal password because "that's the only way I can send you money". RIGHT, like anybody is actually that retarded? Like there would be any money in it anyway...
