Just a question about translations...
« on: August 17, 2012, 08:53:38 AM »
Hi. I was looking for old games(reeeally old games) and I realized that there are tons of japanese 8~16 bits(mainly RPG from NES and SNES) games translated to english. Anyone who have experience with translation projects could tell me, what is the difference between 8~16 bits and 32+ bits games that make people prefer to translate games from the 8~16 bits? I read somewhere that psx doesn't have neither 10 games translated to english(from japanese), and I believe it's true because I couldn't find almost nothing. The same goes to PC games, there are tons of japanese PC games, but maybe only a couple dozens of games translated(I believe I can confirm 10~15 games). I just wanted to ask that.

Thanks. Regards.

Shining Force 3 on Saturn is being translated and a few DC titles have been translated by our own members.

It is harder to reverse engineer newer games I guess.
