I saw what Mesh did, and I think that it's pretty damn cool to do that for everyone new and existing. So I'm the first copycat on the block.
I can't even remember when I came here, but I know it was a long time ago. I was a simple Google-searching user looking for DC games, found this place, talked up a storm (because everyone here was really cool and easy to talk to) and decided to stick around and do what I could.
I got made a Mod, did my thing, tried to keep the place clean and tidy, and got handed the keys to the kingdom. I've had to swing the hammer of doom before, and I absolutely hate doing it. I get no pleasure out of smacking people out of our park, and I've only had to do it on two closely-related occasions. I'm a very tolerant guy, and I won't even lock a thread anymore unless it gets REALLY,
REALLY out of hand. I love this place - heart and soul - and just want to see it run as smoothly and irreverently as ever.
I stepped down from the ISO/emu side of things as of about a year/year and a half ago. Now I mainly stick to the forums, just hanging out and talking up a storm or two. I'm like the Buddha of this site, a wise mountain from which you could ask any question and get the answer you needed, but maybe not the answer you expected. And if I can't answer a question, I'll definitely get you in touch with someone who can, this much I can promise you.
I've been playing games since my hands could hold things. My first console was an Atari 2600. River Raid FTW (probably where I got my love of shmups from).
I've kept the collection pretty lean - I own two NES consoles (one original spring-loader, one top-loader, both working), an SNES, two N64s, a PSX, three PS2s (two dead bricks and one invincible slimline), a modded XBOX (in which I carry every arcade fighting game known to man, or at least the ones that the XB will support), an XBOX 360 (My gamertag is
Everyday Legend), a Wii and my favorite console of all time, hands down, no contest - my Dreamcast (may it live forever).
I'm 25, in college and shooting for a Masters degree in Interactive Arts and Sciences - Production. I'd like to do design, but mathematics isn't my strong suit, I'm more of a Language Arts kind of guy. So, I'd be better off with high-level team management and supervision. Plus, I think it'd be a thrill to be the dude who signs off on the payroll for 300 people crunching code to make something of brilliance.
I dig all kinds of games, except genres that get stagnant and overcrowded (such as sports and most FPS game these days). But I'll try to play anything, and I mean that wholeheartedly.
My top five games of all time aren't in any order, but they all stand as my titles that I'll play for the rest of my life:
Mega Man 2 (NES)
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Okami (PS2)
SoulCalibur (DC)
Zelda: Link To The Past (SNES)
This is who I am. This is what I do. Here is where I call home. Welcome to SegaHub. Stay forever.
