Capcom vs. SNK 2 - Millionaire Fighting 2001 [NTSC-J] [GDI]
« on: April 10, 2008, 05:42:37 PM »
100% TOSEC verified GDI dump

Image Info:
Name: Capcom vs. SNK 2 - Millionaire Fighting 2001
Version: V1.001
Region: NTSC-J (Japan)
Languages: Japanese, English
Format: GD-ROM - 1.10 GB
Compressed Size: 197 MB

Screenshots:

NOTE: You can only play these images in an emulator such as nullDC (recommended) or Makaron on your PC. You cannot burn them to a regular CD (like CDI's). Also, you MUST have the correct region BIOS loaded in your emulator that matches the region of the game.

To change the region of your dc_flash.bin open it with a hex editor, go to position 0x1A002 and change it's value to:

0x30: Japan (NTSC, Orange)
0x31: USA (NTSC, Orange)
0x32: Euro (PAL, Blue)

One of the premier titles for the Dreamcast! One could argue whether it's the best Capcom 2D fighter to date. Get your Groove on!

Enjoy!

I'd love to try to play this, but I can't get this whole Hex editor thing to work out right.  It's like trying to explain Chaos Theory to your cat.

Never mind.  I finally got it.

It breaks down like this, for those who aren't as smart in the fields of Applied Mathematics (i.e. people like me):

Scan the .bin file in a hex editor and search for the place where you begin to see the names of Japanese people (it's about 4/5 to 5/6 of the way down).  Move up a bit, and RIGHT before there you will see the name "211Dreamcast" show up not only once, but twice.  In the "211" part, the first digit can either be 0, 1 or 2.  0 is Japan.  1 is America.  2 is Europe.  You will need to change both instances of "211" to whatever code you desire in order for the region to change.

And there you have it: just change the first number to the region code of your choice, and rock out with your smock out.  Hells yeah.

btw i have a quetion about this game as well i would be glad if someone could answer it
the sprites for all the charecters are really low res and they appear blocky and ugly hell even street fighter 3 had better looking charecters than this game is it because of the emu ??? or do i have to play around with some graphics settings?? could someone help me out here  :-\

IIRC the graphics look that way on the Dreamcast *or any other* version.

I have the Gamecube and had the XBOX version.

I had a Dreamcast version but I accidentally broke it.
