Best Gamecube games?
« on: February 18, 2008, 07:35:50 PM »
My birthday today!  :D

My other half got me a Gamecube (yep, I know I'm 5 years late but
it's one console that I don't have).

I already have Legend of Zelda - Collectors Edition (technically they're NES & N64)
and I've decided to track down the following.

Resident Evil & RE Zero
Wave Race
Paper Mario
Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime

Anyway, any recommendations?

It already is, it's getting worth more and more every day.

More than $40 for a used game is ridiculous.

think i paid $40 buy it now for a new copy, figured it would be the best price, and with only a few hours left just went for it.

on amazon.ca theres 3 $160 listings, one of which is used, now thats overpriced.

it was nice since its shipping out of toronto, so hopefully i wont have to wait long

I thought so. Thing is....it's still sealed!
Do I play it or open it?
...
...
..
..
..
.
OPEN IT OF COURSE :)

BTW thanks to all for the suggestions.
I'm in the UK with a PAL 'cube so I'll have to pass
on those US versions (and lovely US prices).

BTW
What if I got a Freeloader disc.
I've heard stories about compatibility problems
playing imprted games with it?
Anyone tried it?
I'm specifically asking any UK folks who have tried it
with US & JAP games.

Thanks!!

Metroid Prime 2
Star Fox Adventures
Zelda: Windwaker
Pikmin 1 and 2
Prince of Persia (The Whole Sands of Time Trilogy)
Zelda: Four Swrods Adventures (if you can get 4 GBAs, 4 link cables and three friends, this game kicks ass)
Geist
Rayman 3
Smash Bros

geist?  really?  i thought that game had a really cool, novel idea, but in practice i thought it wasn't fun at all.

oh, and i'm not sure how well it will have held up, but i loved rogue leader when it first game out.

rogue leasers cool, but it does have some control issues, partly due to the gamecube stick i think, and partly due to it being really sensitive.

still a good buy if it can be found for a reasonable price.

i also found geist to have a really cool idea behind it, but ya, the game could have turned out much better.

luckily i got mine for $18, figured it was a decent price since my blockbuster wanted $35 for a used copy

After a bit of research I've decided to buy the new Action Replay for Gamecube & Wii which
also incorporates the Freeloader function.
Now to buy those "cheap" imports. :)

Action Replay is awesome, don't just use it for that!  That + Super Smash Bros = hours of fun.  You can do all sorts of crazy shit with it.
