I couldn't figure it out in any great detail but maybe theres a walkthrough somewhere. but changing certain numbers and letters on the mii id can change the pants color, so far ive gotten yellow, black and blue.

mine didnt come out as good as the one on my wii since it accidentally pressed random and it started me off with a hard piece of krap :/

lol, they're not that hard to tell apart... I'll be changing mine soon though, most likely to something to do with Brawl :p.
