mario sunshine gets a bad rap because it wasn't as revolutionary as mario 64. it was a pretty good game, it just didn't change the fucking face of videogames like mario 64 did.

as for that paper mario comment, have you ever played any of those games? they're outstanding.

Man I hate mario. Mario 3 was sweet, Mario 64 was sweet. Other than that, I hate them. If I was going to be locked away for life and I could only take 1 game, I'd pick shenmue over mario 3, just because theres more to do without getting bored.
But I still say for engaging story nothing beats final fantasy x. That game sucked me in.

i'm not normaly a mario fan but i must admit i do like mario 2. maybe the fact that it's not actualy a true mario, rather a rehash of another japanise game just with mario sprites has something to do with it.

you people and your shenmue, that game sucks, i could not figure out where to go or what to do.

i think some of the best games is Legend of Zelda The Ocarina of Time, and sonic adventure 1 & 2

Yeah, but the non-linear nature of Shenmue meant that only certain personality types would "get it." Everyone else (which happened to be the majority) just stood around and scratched their heads. It's the same thing that happened to Seaman, IMO - drop a game that's too cerebral and the mass market won't get it, and almost out of fear, I believe.

But yea, repent ye sinners! Okami is upon us again! It's coming out (in the US) on March 25th for the Wii, and includes 16:9 support and 480p - which means that what could be the most beautiful looking (as far as art style execution goes) game of all time just got a hell of a lot prettier. Oh, and Wiimote brush strokes, that too.

If you don't get that game this time around, then damn you. Straight up - damn you. You don't deserve to hold a controller ever again, you waste of couch space.

shenmue was ok, but eventually i realized that most of the game was a whole lot of nothing. a game that simulates an exciting life of asking where sailors hang out and driving fork lifts just isn't much fun.
