How to Set Up a File Server in mIRC
« on: July 17, 2007, 04:27:45 AM »
To serve, you need to install a special version of mIRC called "SysReset."
You can download that here:

http://www.sysreset.com/

We need more servers in the channel. If you would like to serve a few files there, read the following tutorial. Thanks.

mIRC File Server Tutorial:

1. Go to http://www.sysreset.com/ to download SysReset mIRC.

2. Install the SysReset version of mIRC that you just downloaded and start it up.

3. Go to the top menu bar entitled: SysReset and select "File Server Manager." You can adjust the settings there.

4. Under "File Server Triggers, add a Fserve Trigger to the "Fserve Trigger List." (This creates an advertizement with a link that people can copy and paste back into the channel to connect to your Fserve.) Example: "Kevlar's Games"

Then, it will then ask you for a file with an opening greeting. Click cancel if you don't want one.

Next, it will ask which folder you want to be linked to that trigger. Just browse to the folder you want to share.

5. When you're done setting it up, go to "SysReset" and "Servers Active" and turn it on.
