Hi. In the next few days, I will buy a Dreamcast. This forum looks very nice and usefull.
1 Question, any PAL Dreamcast is able to read recorded games, if not here I can found more info. about the various console's versions.

Hi welcome to segahub

when you purchase your DC look on the bottom you will see PAL on the sticker nect to that is a ring with either 0,1 or 2 in it avoid a 2 as that will most likly not play backups

also a 0 will be the early heatpipe model

this is not always the rule of thumb but its always worked for me

apparently you can also go by the date but i have never found this on any DC ive had or seen

yes i have pal DC they play NTSC fine but you will not get the 60hz option so have to suffer borders.

you can region mod your DC but to be honest its not really worth it

Best answer I have for this?
VGA adapter.

if you use a Computer Monitor on your DC with a VGA adapter all these issues vanish, and the picture quality is INCREDIBLE. A Dreamcast with a VGA box and a high grade monitor will make a PS2 look pathetic on many games.

VGA adapters are only a little more than $20, they're totally worth it.
