quick question Can utopia run burnt selfboot games. cause whenever I put one in it just loads forever. But when I put in an original disk it boots up fine.
Does it have to be non-selfboot?

Yup, well it does on my system, maybe u need the utopia bootdisk 2 run import games too.
-
thank you very much. Lost this one. been searching for it.
-
im new to this, i have all 3 versions of the utopia bootdisk, how do i burn it? and how do i use it to boot burnt games?
-
You will only need this to boot games that are not selfboot. You can burn this with Alcohol 120% at the slowest speed possible.
Most games on this site do not need this disc though, you just burn the download, pop it in the Dreamcast and play.
-
i thought this topic should have utopia disc in it
so i uploaded the utopia boot disc v1.5
it on mediafire
here's the link
http://www.mediafire.com/?tlktpryynny
i know that there is a download of utopia boot disc v1.1 in the dreamcast tools section
so if you don't want this here, tell me
i'm sorry if there is a problem
-
Utopia boot disc 1.5 is fake, the latest real version is 1.1.
-
i don' t know if it is Actually 1.5, but that is what it says, at least it is a 1.2, becouse it looks different when it loads, well anyway it works, is it allright that i put this here
-
Yeah, it's fine, it's not official though, that's what I meant by it being fake.
-
ok!! thanks!!! so that is what you mean, i don't know much about it
-
what's the difference between utopia ver. 1.1 and 1.2
-
Anything after 1.1 is not official and doesn't have any benefits at all.

I posted this in the Cannon Spike thread, but I wanted to post it here to to see if I might get more answers.
"I need some help unpacking these. I'm using Alcohol 120% and WinRAR, but I can't seem to convert these files into CDI's. I've tried Discjuggler too, but I'm having trouble because these files are separated and not one single file. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated."
I really want 'The Last Hope', 'Cannon Spike', 'Bangai-O', and the 'Kill Bill Vol. 1'. I really need help on how to get these games to burn.
-
Open the .001 file with winrar and you should find your image in there.
All archives on this site should open with winrar or occasionally 7zip if a P2M download.
-
When I open the .001 it makes a CDI file, but it doesn't go into the folder I try extracting it to. It keeps asking me to insert a disk with the next volume. Is the CDi file that it makes sent to the Temp folder...and can I burn it from there?
-
It sounds like you don't have all the rars in the same directory.
Try following this:

Utopia boot disc 1.5 is fake, the latest real version is 1.1.
I have the called Utopia 1.2, that is a cracked version for VGA support (image of boot cd doesn't show on monitor, but in the game it does). It also doesn't show 0GDTEX.PVR when loading CDs, I have no idea why.
And both versions I tested doesn't boot selfboot games, only GDs and non-boot games. But don't worry about it, (almost) every game in CDs have IP.BIN hacked for all regions. I don't even know if Dreamcast checks for regions of MIL-CDs.
-
I've tried lots of versions of Utopia from this thread and other sources but didn't manage to make it work (or that's what I think), after inserting the boot disk is it supposed to show any type of image or something? My DC doesn't recognize Utopia as playable :( I've had a really cool boot disk time long ago in Russia that after booting showed up some stuff waiting for another cd to boot it up but I've lost it...
P.S.: Any help appreciated.
P.S.S.: First post, yeah.
Edit: I was checking out the versions 1.1, 1.2 and 1.5 of Utopia... why the 1.1 has 3 .txt files in it? Seems I have no luck in burning it nor with nero or dj, will try clonecd next time. And yeah, I've had Utopia back in time (remember the reindeer), so it's not the problem of my DC's model HKT-3030, aspi drivers might help too...

Try following the tutorial in the downloads section.
