My birthday ... the big twenty one on 11/20!

So my b-day's comin up, yeah it might be a couple months away, but my mom asked me about it. Now it's got me thinkin. I'll be 21 on the 20th of November. Coming from a Christian family, I'm wondering if I should get a couple drinks, eat some pizza, watch a movie, that kind of thing. Parents say whatever I wanna do is fine, they just don't want me to become an addict like I have with my video games . And I really don't think I will become an addict. The big problem here is I don't want to really invite any of my friends that do drink over with my family because I know they'll want to get me hammered. I feel like if I invite my closest friends they'll understand if I only wanted a couple drinks. I know most guys go to the bar on their 21st, get drunk out of their mind, get lapdances, all that stuff. I'm just not that way. But I think my idea's good, of just getting a couple drinks, pizza, a movie with my closest friends (like 3-4 people), and that's it. And maybe a few days later something else with the friends that do drink.

So what do you think? What would you do if it was your 21st? Hey if you think I'm being stupid about this go ahead and tell me, it's something every guy goes through and sometimes it's all the way drink or all the way stay home. I just want to live a good life, I just need to know my options and limits.

Obviously a few drinks and generly fu with friends but nothing that'll make your parents think less of you.

Actually we are very similar, so getting a couple drinks, pizza, and a movie with closest friends will do, personally i prefer that than go to a bar or a nightclub. Just have fun the way YOU like it.

Weather today is actually the best it's been in a while, it's starting to get cool for once, it's been really hot the past month.

Sounds great so far, I think it'll be a good party. I just don't really want any of my friends that drink a lot to come because the first thing they get there they'll want me to drink up, I dunno.

Definitely Halo 3, that'll be fun to play with a couple buds on my b-day. That and pizza. What a great night.

Yeah, that sounds perfect.  Just keep it simple.  If you have a party, everyone will be expecting a lot of alcohol .

happy soon 2 be b-day.... I keep forgetting that the drinking age in the US is 21... i had my 18th in england, so that was pretty cool because I could legally drink there. My suggestions are have a BBQ, enjoy the weather while you still can (dont know how far south you live, but I'm enjoying what I got left of my warm weather), invite a few frineds over and have a couple drinks.

I know my b-day's like 2 months away but I just really felt like it would be good if I thought about it way ahead. And I don't think a couple drinks would hurt, none of my closest friends are 21 yet so this might be awkward lol

For my 21st B-day this girl I was going out with at the time gave me a cake and we sat in a park full of Oak trees at night staring at the stars. It was all very romantic..candles..stars...strangely no alcohol. I think by the time I hit 21 I was done drinking.lol

yeah I did test the waters by talkin to my parents and talkin about it, and they seemed to be alright with everything I said I wanted. It's all green lights from here.
