Should some links be updated here?
« on: August 02, 2012, 01:38:03 AM »
Hello, I am new here. I have happened to look around here lately and noticed that I can get some Dreamcast games here I have been wanting to try. Some of the games I have been wanting to try have dead links. I was wondering if maybe someone could replace those dead links. I have been interested in some racing and  platforming games. I also love RPGs.

The games I would like to try are Sega GT, Sega Rally 2, Daytona USA 2001, Grandia 2 (not single disc nor with that bug that freezes up your game), Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers (Quack Attack), PS online Ver. 1 plus 2, Wacky Races, Re-volt, Border Down, and Star Wars Ep. 1 Racer.

I know this is a big request, but if someone could get some of these I would be eternally grateful. I am really interested in the RPGs and Donald Duck. I notice a lot of good releases on here are made by DCRES and ReviveDC (are they the same?). Thank you all. Long live the Dreamcast.

Did you try these? The P2M links usually don't get taken down, but I haven't tried these lately.
Sega GT: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=36.0
Sega Rally 2: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=2224.0
Grandia 2: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=1968.0
Wacky Races: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=1331.0
Star Wars: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=1907.0

No DCRES and ReviveDC are not the same, DCRes is (I think) TuxTheWise's project alone, and the ReviveDC releases are brought to us by the gentlemen listed on their blog here: http://rdcproject.blogspot.com/
Both release quality stuff for sure.

Yeah, I have tried those. There is one thing you should know though, low internet speed. Rapidshare downloads can get as low as 6 KB per second on me. Sometimes it will freeze and then it will say it will not complete. Or it will say it is "done." So I have rechecked out the download links (original and repacks).

Sega Rally 2 and Wacky Races do not work. Sega GT from Mediafire seems to be downloading fine. I think I remember it corrupting on me once, but I am not sure. I will report back on that later. Star Wars downloads pretty slowly on me, but it works (confirmed yesterday until it quit.) The single disc repack of Grandia 2 does not have the file lost. I would like to play the two disc original set that does not have the disc 1 game freeze.

Thanks for the help. I usually research these things before making a post. A lot of links here should be updated, though. I am not the man that has those resources, sadly.

I'm not pointing you at the rapidshare links. Did you try the P2M downloads?

I understand. No, I have not tried those. Let's see, let's try Wacky Races after the instructions have been followed. I will report back in a bit.

Edit: Peer2mail.com seems defunct. I sort of need an explanation. I am confused.

Ah looks like you're right about that. You can try downloading p2m here: http://peer2mail.en.softonic.com/
I'd ordinarily test things for you but I'm in the process of moving and don't have easy access to a windows machine atm.
Just make sure you scan that p2m download before you install it, should be ok though.

I agree the p2m process can be pretty confusing, but the idea behind it is that the downloads are a lot less likely to be shut down.

rayman9930, all DCRES releases are available via torrent: http://segahub.org/index.php?topic=6209.0, RDC ones are available via torrent too at underground-gamer.com tracker.

OK, I will refer to the torrent as a last resort of such. I know of a program that can download them.

I downloaded P2M, tried to log in. It worked, except for one thing. It wants to know if I am that actual user. It either wants me to put in where that user logs in as or answer something like, "What is your primary frequent flyer number?" It only does this on Wacky Racers, though.

Does any have both versions of Phantasy Star Online? PAL or NTSC-U will be fine. All the current links here(that does not refer to the Japanese versions) are dead. I have already looked to.

Most of the games hosted by JumboFiles don't seem to work anymore.
I just get "This file is currently unavailable. Please try to download this file again later."...

Is it a site issue or are the links dead already?

The links aren't dead. You just need to do like it says and try again later. There may be 3 or 4 that are actually offline, but I can see that 77 of them are online.
