Code: [Select]
This game originally had a shit load of crappy CDDA music, over an hour's
worth. It was either kill the opening movie, or kill the CDDA. Since the
music was so annoying, we figured most people could live without it. Sorry.
Nope, sorry.

i second that. paradiso did the same shit to vanishing point. in my opinion, any group that says that they cut the cdda, because it sucks, is just too incompetent to release an 80min rip

personally I found hen music on MVC2 incredobly crap too, thank god for the custom remixes. Its odd, I own an origional copy, yet I still play my burned copy just because I like the music choice alot better.

Check for more releases at these forums (search for user "TuxTheWise"):
snesorama.us (all releases, see my signature)
segahub.org (recent releases)
dreamcast-talk.com (recent releases)
===================================================================================================
NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.

--------------------
Puyo Puyo 4 (NTSC-J)
--------------------
Ripped: About half of CDDA tracks edited (only a few seconds).
Downsampled: Opening video.
Source: GD.

=== ATTENTION: ===
You need to execute the "unpack.bat" before burning, it will unpack the .ecm file and create your
.cdi image.

If you need to apply any patch, do it in the unpacked .cdi file, not in the .ecm file.
==================

I'm very proud to present my first release made from my own GD rip. With the last DreamShell
version now able to rip GDs (thanks to SWAT for this feature), I bought Puyo Puyo 4, ripped myself
to a SD card and could make the first complete release of this game, at least as far as I know.

Here's the thing, at the time I was working on this, there were two Puyo Puyo 4 releases around.
One is VECTREX's, and it has untouched opening video but all CDDA ripped out. In the readme he
said he ripped the CDDA because he thought it was annoying, and he wanted to keep the opening
video. The fact is that he probably wasn't able to make it work and just came with an excuse. The
music is pretty cool and you kill the game without it. Anyway, the second release is of BLIBBERO's
(actually he says it came from a private source), and it's better and pretty rare (thanks to
Basil/Vasiliy for making it available on the usual forums). The dude that worked on it ripped the
opening video, but made a release with CDDA. But there is a problem with this release: the CDDA
tracks order are all messed up, so the game keeps playing the wrong track.

In my release, both opening video and CDDA tracks are present (in correct order of course).
Opening video was downsampled, but the quality is very close to the original (the quality wasn't
the best on it as well). Some CDDA tracks were edited, but they already ended with fade out, and I
just ripped ~15 seconds, so no difference can be noticed.

Usual CDDA hack was crashing the game after opening, so I compared it with BLIBBERO's release, and
implemented his hack on my release, there were only 3 different bytes. So the credits for hacking
CDDA go all to the person that worked on BLIBBERO's release, I just copied it. Thanks for the code
unknown hero.

PAL users, this game will already boot in 60hz on your consoles.

This should be the first "correct" release of Puyo Puyo 4 in the whole universe, and it comes with
DCRES quality seal. Puyo Puyo fans will definitely love it. Non Puyo Puyo fans will get it, get
addicted and love it as well. So it doesn't matter which group you belong to, just burn this game
and have fun.

Features of my release:
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.

About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.

Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with covers. I would scan the manual but I'm too lazy to find my scanner.

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.

Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.
