Some info

The Saturn is no stranger to great shooters but it looks like the makers of Macross are.  First impressions of this game were not favorable since I'd played the Super Famicom Macross game by Zamuse many times before.  The Super Famicom game is really good with solid shooting action and great special effect.  The Saturn game uses pre-rendered graphics.  These look ok but not great.  The over all look of this game is pretty shabby.  The game play is ok though but could have been better.  The thing that makes this game stand out is the amazing quality of the FMV at the beginning of the game.  Just a shame that the quality doesn't stay that good through out the game.  As you play the game you go through the entire story of the Super Dimension Macross movie accompanied with FMV clips from the movie.  It's also quite an easy game and you'll go through both the discs in under 2 hours easily.  If you're a fan of Macross you'll love this game if not then give it a miss as there are many better shooters on the Saturn.
