Okay, so after downloading a dreamcast game from this website(well from rapidshare or something)I need to follow this guide to extract the file using winRAR and then I can take what was extracted and burn it to a disc using Alcohol 120%? Afterwards I can just put the game into a dreamcast and it should play if the file I downloaded was a selfboot file?

Also what specific type of CD should I buy to burn dreamcast games onto? I've read that I need one that is 80 minutes (or 700mb, something like that) but what format should I look buy?

Sorry if these questions seem like stupid ones but I'm going to buy a dreamcast this Saturday and want to make sure I have a good idea of what I'm doing as far as burning games before hand. I read somewhere that I should defiantly look for a dreamcast that was manufactured before October of 2000, but where on the Dreamcast can I find this date?

Memorex Cd's are fine. Make sure you buy CD-R's not CD-RW's as the DC can't read them. 80min cd's will be fine, just follow the burning tutorial here and you should have no problems

Thank-you for your help giggity, I have this and the Alcohol 120% Burning guide favorited for later use. That clears up everything except for where I can find the date it was manufactured on.

Okay, then it will be rather obvious and easy to spot, thank-you Komfort.

What do I do if the combined files are over 700mb?

An image file of 800mb often burns 700mb of data to a disc. If the image really does need a 90 or 99 min disk (which is very rare and explicitly mentioned in the download thread) then you will need a bigger disc.

x8 speed should be minimum burning speed, but i have less c1 errors on x12.
Anyway if lens of your dc is in good shape, burn always with maximum speed(x48-x52) :o!!
