Anybody still listen to vinyl LPs?

I just hit the Allan Holdsworth JACKPOT:

Two brand new copies of Metal Fatigue, and one brand new copy of Atavachron - FOR ONLY $5 EACH!!!

I'm beside myself :D.

I'd get more vinyl if there were more mixable hip-hop albums that didn't suck a fat dick.  I used to spin a little bit back in the day, and still love to cut beats to shreds.

Yeah I have a few records but I don't have a record player, I just like the artwork and they are kind of cool to collect.

The sound quality is amazing though.  I love analog sound :D.

Only problem is the amount of work involved with cleaning vinyl, keeping everything dust free, setting up the turntable perfectly with the right cartridge weight, etc...

Well I got the records yesterday!  The seller kinda misrepresented the items tho.

He said Metal Fatigue was mint/new-sealed, but there was a hold punched in it, like a retail store return.

Oh well, I bought it to listen to - not to keep sealed like a jackass collector ;).

My parents have some vinyls, but I've never really listened to them.  Maybe I'll give them a try sometime this summer.

My dad has a couple of bookcases full of vinyl. They used to be on steel cases but are now replaced with these fat shelf plastic ones.

Yea, there's no more separate sections.  This category encompasses Music and Art.

I used to DJ in the early 90's UK rave scene.
Still have around 3000 LP's and 12" singles.
Don't realy have the room for them but they're
too valuable to get rid of.
(That's what I tell the wife anyway :) )

[edit]
(They're not all dance music though, about 1000 or so are hip-hop from around 1987-onwards)
