I Downloaded this Vanishing Point and I have burned it 3 times everytime the game freezes at the accessing data part at the beginning so I do not think that this is a good image that works

If I remember correctly, you have to remove any VMUs from the controller while starting the game up.

I hate it when that happens. But I can help you out on this one since I already got it up ;) So please, see http://rapidshare.com/users/Y51AZ7 for my mirror of Vanishing_Point_USA_DC-ECHELON. The password for unpacking is ".:[Zulu4SegaHub]:." of course.

Enjoy.
If you think a part is broken, let me know and I'll fix it asap.

The links at rapidshare are only downloading 12.3k per part, and they are invalid for building the game.
I really need to replace this, as my original is scratched too badly to play.

Please drop this to megaupload so I can grab this awesome game.
Thanks.

I downloaded this through the mirrors on MegaUpload this morning.
I ended up leaving work early because I got sick, and just burned a copy about an hour ago.

I don't remember the opening video, but this is exactly the game I remember:  Stunt Events included!...  :D

I found another Vanishing Point in a Dreamcast compilation I downloaded through a torrent site (MiniNova, I believe).
This compilation VP seemed to be complete and the .sfv file that accompanied it was checked against the part files I unpacked.
The .sfv was accurate, though after burning the disc, it would come up, display the title screen, the automakers' acknowledgement
rights screen, then show a "Disc Dirty" white-on-red screen and never get past that.

This is a warning to those of you who use, or plan to use, torrent sites:  DON'T.
Make your requests here and these awesome people will bring you the games you so crave and help you to create those "oh, so needed" backups!
Myself and my friends still play our older game consoles, and the Dreamcast is NOT an exception:  It's at the forefront of the pack!  With people here like miketrix042 who know the Dreamcast, it's hard not to like this site.

Keep up the AWESOME WORK.  This is the GREATEST SITE, IMHO, that will help you out in a pinch when you need that particular Dreamcast backup.  I am recommending this site to everyone I know that still plays their Dreamcast!  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

On a scale of 1 to 10:  I rate the Quickness of Reply @ 7; the Accuracy of Information @ 9; the Enjoyment of THIS DC Game @ 10.
Thank you miketrix042, I hope to find a few more here...

And, BTW, Happy Holidays to everyone...
This was the best Christmas gift I could have found-- EVER!...   :D ;) :) ;) :D

NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.

Vanishing Point (NTSC-U)
------------------------
Ripped: Most CDDA edited.
Downsampled: Videos.
Source: GD dump.

Echelon has ripped some tracks on their release to make this game fit on a CD-R. As usual, I took
another approach.

First step was making space. Each video had two copies, one with 25fps (for 50hz) and other with
30fps (for 60hz). I've deleted the 25fps ones and linked them to the 30fps. I'm not sure if the
videos will play correctly in 50hz (but I believe they will), but in 60hz they will work fine.
Additionally, the remaining videos were downsampled using a high quality encoder and the result
got much better than I expected, and I've gained a lot of space.

To make more space, some identical files were re-linked to a single file.

Even with all these things, there was no space available for the full CDDA, so they were edited
and fade out was added as usual. Tracks were wisely edited, so it won't affect the gameplay.

PAL users, apply the patch included to make the game boot in 60hz in PAL consoles.

This is the first release I see around with the CDDA tracks, so I think you'll want it. Enjoy.

Features of my release:
- No CDDA tracks ripped.
- Not corrupted files at all, it was made with GD dump files.
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.

About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.

Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with covers.

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.

Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.
