Try again, it was probably just some weird error, I just started downloading it now and it worked fine.

The file you requested was removed for violating MediaFire's Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy. :(

Sega Sports Tennis 2K2
Dream Resurrection

Dream Resurrection or DCRES is a project maintained by TuxTheWise. The goal is making high quality releases with custom optimization techniques. Please always see readme files of each game, they always have important information.

                           Dreamcast Resurrection - 2010 (since 2008)

Check for more releases at these forums (search for user "TuxTheWise"):
snesorama.us (all releases, see my signature)

NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.
===================================================================================================
-------------------------------
Sega Sports Tennis 2K2 (NTSC-U)
-------------------------------
Ripped: Nothing (see notes).
Downsampled: Music 44khz -> 32khz; one file 44khz -> ~27khz (see notes).
Source: GD dump.

=== ATTENTION: ===
You need to execute the "unpack.bat" before burning, it will unpack the .ecm file and create your
.cdi image.

If you need to apply any patch, do it in the unpacked .cdi file, not in the .ecm file.
==================

I'm very proud to bring you Tennis 2K2.

Besides a standard protection, this game had an extra check of the size of (almost) every file in
the disc. It also had a big dummy file that was checked as well, so it would avoid people from
making the game fit on a CD. If this check fail, the game will boot normally, will let you play a
match for ~30 seconds and then it will take you back to the menu. Well, I could break this
protection changing the size of the modified files in the ISO header, so now the game thinks the
files are alright, when they actually aren't. AFS header will keep the reader inside the bounds,
so everything is working great. Using this technique, I could modify and rip files as I wish, I
just had to change the information in the ISO later for the protection check. This is actually the
first protection I broke by myself, so I'm very proud of it.

Oh, and because of the changings in the image that I had to do, you might having trouble
extracting some files of the disc on your computer, so don't try to remaster this disc.

Optimizating this game was hard. About half of reading is made with music, so game must read two
files at the same time. I had to make five tries until I find the "ideal" file order. It wasn't an
easy task, because original file order didn't help very much. Additionally, music was downsampled
to 32khz. Look, both reading and seek time are worse in CDs when you compare to GDs, so this was
an important optimization decision. If game keeps smaller, seek time decreases, and if bit rate in
the music is lower, the game streams the other data faster. If you don't agree with my judgement,
get Echelon's release and be happy. Just know that I thought and tested it a lot before taking
this decision. The lost in quality is very small, and it can't be noticed unless compared the
original song.

I also have faced a little glitch that happened in the main menu. After the "Press Start" screen,
the song freezes for a while (keeps repeating the same short part). It happens because game
insists in loading some other files before stream music again. Probably in the GD this process is
fast enough, but not in CD. File order was adjusted to help the process, and the main menu song
was downsampled to ~27khz. It solved the problem. Eventually it may happen if you select options
too fast, but it should be rare enough.

Some not used files were ripped, like multi-language that is not avaliable at the NTSC-U version.

PAL users, apply the included patch before burning to make the game work in 60hz on your consoles,
else it will boot in 50hz.

You should burn this game now, it's a great game, even if you don't like tennis. Have fun.

Features of my release:
- Not corrupted files at all, it was made with GD dump files.
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.

About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.

Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with manual and covers.

Checking files:
Save the text below with .sfv extension and open with any SFV checker. I recommend RapidCRC.
Code: [Select]
tennis2k2_dcres.7z CC8CC436

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.

Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.

Thanks tux, the best multiplayer game on the dreamcast, IMO.
