Rune Jade (J) online or . . . .

Hi all,hope Ive got the right forum here(sorry,Im a newb:) )
But I have just came across a copy of Rune Jade,and its (I think),
what Im lookin for,as far as a good rpg game goes...Heres the
skinny;
 this games a Diablo style of rpg,*but* the problem is that
it requires an online connection to even boot into the game .
Does anyone know if its possable to get around this without
an online connection,or mabee theres somewone that knows
of another version that has mabee been modafied to allow play
solo?
Oh,and its a jap game,the intro looks similar to a Dragons Lair
sort of cartoony dungeonesque look to it,then,it craps out if
you try to play and it detects no online connection.....
