i know the question is old but this is based on the movie and comic series heavy metal the first movie is a collection of tales all related to the same object and how people respond to it and the second movie is mor or less a long version of the final story from part one the are both great very adult cartoons swearing sex drug refrences and lots of violence they are pretty cool im about to downlaod the game now i herd its kinda like the spawn game but more focus on guns ill post more info whe ni actually sit down and play
Now they hate me...when I love them...but yes the day will come when the world screams "SAVE US!!!" and I...I will whisper...."no"

Heavy Metal: Geomatrix
Dream Resurrection

Dream Resurrection or DCRES is a project maintained by TuxTheWise. The goal is making high quality releases with custom optimization techniques. Please always see readme files of each game, they always have important information.

Review by IGN

===================================================================================================
                           Dreamcast Resurrection - 2010 (since 2008)
===================================================================================================
Check for more releases at these forums (search for user "TuxTheWise"):
snesorama.us (all releases, see my signature)
segahub.org (recent releases)
dreamcast-talk.com (recent releases)
===================================================================================================
NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.
===================================================================================================
-------------------------------
Heavy Metal: Geomatrix (NTSC-U)
-------------------------------
Ripped: Nothing (read notes).
Downsampled: Nothing.
Source: GD dump.

=== ATTENTION: ===
You need to execute the "unpack.bat" before burning, it will unpack the .ecm file and create your
.cdi image.

If you need to apply any patch, do it in the unpacked .cdi file, not in the .ecm file.
==================

Well, the release was ready and I was compressing the pack. However, during the process, I noticed
that compressed data was practically not changing for about 100mb past dummy of the image, meaning
that there were a bunch of "zeros" somewhere. Checking the biggest file (~200+ mb), I noticed that
after ~59mb it was full of zeros, meaning that there was no useful information. So I just cutted
the useless part off and tested the game, no success. Then I had the idea of changing the ISO
header to make game think that the short file had its nominal size. In case it tries to access
data beyond file size, it will get random bytes from the rest of the ISO, but since it's only
zeros (not useful), it most likely will make no difference. And it doesn't, game worked great with
this change, and the "rip" had a big impact in the performance, because files got more condensed
in the end of the disc. Additionally, a new optimization method was implemented in this game.
Well, the idea is not exacly new  (I've been partially using it since forever), but I finally
wrote some tools to automatize the process so it's fully working here.

The result is that the boost in performance is huge. It's definitely much better than Echelon's
release, and it should even be better than the original GD. So what are you waiting for?

PAL users, apply the included patch before burning to make the game work in 60hz on your consoles,
else it will work in 50hz.

Another great work for DCRES. Have fun.

Features of my release:
- Not corrupted files at all, it was made with GD dump files.
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.

About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.

Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with covers (low quality).

Checking files:
Save the text below with .sfv extension and open with any SFV checker. I recommend RapidCRC.

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.

Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.
