Story

Sega has been fantastic about testing out new game types with American audiences and bringing over titles that may have been passed on by the more conservative Nintendo and Sony, Seaman being the prime example. But perhaps this whole import frenzy thing has gotten a little out of hand with the release of D2 in the US, a visually compelling but gaming snoozefest that will make you wonder exactly why Sega brought the title over to the states in the first place.
If you're looking for a solid sequel to the original D, you're not about to get one ¿ but then again, if you played the original spooky-but-confusing Myst clone, you probably aren't going to be all that surprised that its sequel far from resembles the original. In D2 you play as Laura, a businesswoman who looks more like a tourist who ends up being more like the world's savior, and who inexplicably seems to live in a universe where she's completely mute, but no one ever asks "why the hell won't you just say something?" She does talk by the way, though "off camera." Another inexplicable Warp quirk, I suppose. As you probably know from the preview, the game covers a lot of loopy fantasy/science territory, starting with the hijacking of the plane Laura's on by two violent terrorists, and then heading (literally ¿ the plane crashes) into the arctic wilderness of Canada, which also houses some local research centers and a lot of important clues as to why the dead passengers are turning into monsters, and why Laura's compact just happens to glow like the doorway in Poltergeist.

Ripped: Nothing, but the game was splited(see notes below)

What is new?
-The game was repacked, now it is more optimized.
-Reduced from 8 to 7 cds.
-The split is better now!!
-Solved bug in the piano room.
-Solved slow loading when enemy appear.
-Solved slow loading in start menu, options, save/load screen, menu during the game, etc.
-Faster loadings.
-Less reader noise in first person scene.

About split
-I splited the audio too, because this, I did not need downsample the audio and all stereo sons and musics were preserved, nothing was downsampled.
-I splited the game with perfection, you will change disc(1A) after you defeat the first boss on the plane.

Disc 1

Differences between Standard version and DCHQ
Standard
-You have to change the disc after the first animation of the game.
-All sons and musics were monoized(mono 22000khz)

DCHQ
-You have to change the disc after you defeat the first boss on the plane.
-All stereo sons and musics were preserved, nothing was downsampled.

Disc 2

Differences between Standard version and DCHQ
Standard
-You have to change the disc after the first animation of the game, before you to fight with the boss(Kimberly clone).
-All sons and musics were monoized(mono 22000khz)

DCHQ
-You have to change the disc after you solve all puzzle on the "Brenner Pharmaceuticals inc".
-All stereo sons and musics were preserved, nothing was downsampled.
-The game were optimized.

Disc 3
Standard version
-All sons and musics were monoized(mono 22000khz)
-One video was ripped(after you defeat the boss on martha's house).
-The game(third GD) was splited in 3 cds.

DCHQ version
-All videos is there and nothing was downsampled.
-All stereo sons and musics were preserved, nothing was downsampled.
-The game(third GD) was splited in 2 cds.
-The game were optimized.

Disc 4
Standard version
-The videos were downsampled.
-All sons and musics were monoized(mono 22000khz)

DCHQ version
-The videos were not downsampled, but 2 videos were ripped(see notes below).
-All stereo sons and musics were preserved, nothing was downsampled.
-The game were optimized.

About videos ripped
-Open video was ripped, because I needed space, it is not used during the game and it does not interfere in the story of the game.
-The other video appears at the end of the game, it is a reprise of all other videos, it does not interfere in the story of the game.

GUIDE

Disc 1A
-Play the game normally, and defeat the first boss on the plane.
-After you defeat the boss on the plane, you will wake up in the beginning of the game in the house, save your game and change the disc before you leave of the house.

Disc 1B
-Play the game normally.

Disc 2A
-After you defeat the boss(Kimberly clone) in the "Forest Hut", talk with kimberly some times an she will give to you the small key, get out of the house(forest hut) and go to "Brenner Pharmaceuticals inc", solve all puzzles, after you can save your game and change to the disc 2B.
Play the game normally.

Disc 2B
-Play the game normally.
-You can return to "Forest Hut" and "Brenner Pharmaceuticals inc" any time.

Disc 3A
-Play normally, defeat the boss on martha house, and change the disc to disc 3C before you go to the pit, remember, save your game before.

Disc 3B
-Play the game normally.

Disc 4
-Play the game normally.

Features of my releases:
-Dummy file added and the files were optimized the best possible, It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader noise.
-New custom Selfboot method by DCHQ, improve quick boot and preserve the files like original(no hack).
-VGA Box support
-Comes with covers, manual and extras

Snesorama, like many other multiple console download sites, is a bit... crap.
They hype up their games as if they offer a wonderful service, for which you should be glad to endure popup's for. (I would think that the adverts would be quite enough)
128bit.me is a far better alternative to these sites although I can't for the life of me understand why they chose to offer dreamcast downloads, as it was originally an offshoot from segahub.

I went in to the vehicle the check it out(health, key etc). When i was about to leave the car suddenly something happened and the Dreamcast menu showed up. Tried it three times and it happened every time in the exact same place.

That sounds like the rip, but you should try burning it at max speed and see if you can get past that part, just to be sure. It seems like some games just like that better.

I will burn it with a different write speed as Call_me_sir suggested and see what happens.

Look, after all animations at the start of the game, Follow the path until you find a small hut, enter and search, check the phone and the photo, go back to Kimberly's cabin and you will receive a key, leave and return again to the small hut, use the key you received in the closet, take all objects, and the main rod, Laura will take the radio automatically returns to Kimberly's hut, she put a tape and start listening to the game's theme song 'Counting the Roses' Kimberly goes to the window, Talk again with her, after the scene, get out of the hut and the radio will link. go to the airplane and search for a woman, She will turn into a monster.

A 4 disc version? This would require 99 minute CDR's no doubt as I know this game has some protection that checks the audio frequency. I am curious about your rip process and look forward to your guides more so then your games but both are great so thanks for your hard work.

what is exactly your problem?
Select burn disc image, choose your image, select mode 2 2336 cd-xa, use lowest speed.
If appear a message something like disc jugger fix error on image, choose no.
You can try ALCOHOL 120%, it can burn CDI images.

I just have one issue though, the sound seems to skip and video slowdown quite a bit in the first cutscene of the game. I've burnt the disc twice because I thought that maybe I made a bad burn but the second disc sound skips at the same EXACT points so this tells me that there is something wrong with the first disc. I've burnt them according to the guidelines with DiscJuggler (Mode 2, 2336, CD-XA, Post-Gap ticked). I've tried my original copy of Shenmue where it can be a cutscene intensive game to see if its an issue with my DC laser lens but that plays perfectly fine, without issue so is there any way of fixing this issue? I've wasted 5 CD-Rs now (only 2 CD-Rs worked) so I don't want to waste any more. I've extracted the discs using 7Zip. I know there is a sticky that recommends using WinRAR but from what I understood, use WinRAR if you're getting errors extracting the rars but I haven't got any errors with 7Zip. Thanks.

when you extract the file, check it with rapidcrc.If don't have no problem, try to use another cd recorder or another cd brand.
You can try to use daemon tool and load(create) the image with D2 cdi file, try to copy and burn it.
When I made the image, I checked all files and nothing was corrupted.I finished all cds.
About slowdown, the first time I made D2, I used GD files order and this was not good, the original order maybe works fine in GD but don't in cd-r, when I customized the order, I lose many cds trying to make the best possible.
In cutscene the reader works very, because all songs is compressed in a AFS file, it have to move between scene files and AFS file. there is nothing I can do.
You have sure you downloaded the repacked version?
Somebody is having the same problem?

When you go to the tiny wooden house near the blockhut, you can find a photograph, but when you look at it, the animation keeps playing over and over. It's not such a big deal, you can just reset the console, and load a game and restart. :)
