Or

to run youll first have to install the Homebrew channel
http://hbc.hackmii.com/ (http://hbc.hackmii.com/)
via the twighlight hack
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Twilight_Hack (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Twilight_Hack)
and finally Burn your Wii iso's and Enjoy
http://www.wiiiso.com/ (http://www.wiiiso.com/)
It works fine on my Wii but i cannot fully test as i have a chip
For those that cannot work it read the links im not offering support for other people apps beyond light discussion
and last but not least if you brick your Wii its not my problem ;D

thanks dude i was thinking about whether or not to get a wii. Would it not be easier and better to use a wasabi mod with a wii clip?
-
i dunno about easier although wii-clps are simple i have one with a D2CKey the softmod is quicker than doing the wiiclip install and newer D2E drive chips are coverd in epoxy. Once it has better compatability it will be on par with hardmods
-
So how well does your D2CKey work? Is it easy to update and how is current compatability? Been considering getting a chip for my Wii and need some user input....Mine is an older Wii so a Wii-clip should work (cause I don't trust myself soldering).
-
I would start by identifying your drive chip at either http://wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com/search.php or do a google to get a rough idea what drive chip you have according to your serial number
Then open the wii to double check i left mine unscrewed at this point and just clipped everything back together and taped it shut
check your options at http://www.wii-clip.com/ for your drive
choose a chip
youll need a presolderd wii-clip otherwise youll have to solder the chip into the clip. The D2Ckey hasnt failed to boot around 50 wii titles and about 10 GC titles from variouse regions the only catch is it is technically dead as it has no udate features but was the only option at the time. I would probably go for an updatable chip nowdays
when you install it you have to press quiet hard but make sure you have it aligned correctly i had to refit mine as i was being too cautiouse and it didnt click on tight enough so booting was tempermental.
I also left out the cardboard part as i wasnt that keen on the idea and just coverd the chassis with insulation tape this also allows better airflow around the chip and drive
Burn your backup and use brickblocker if concerned about bricking http://wbb.rockman18.com/?page=home&ln=en
when your satisfied everythings working correctly screw it all back together
I really cant fault the D2Ckey as it hasnt failed me yet

You forgot to mention the things you need to softmod >.> like legend of zelda twilight princess.
-
lol i mentioned the twighlight hack tho so its pretty self explanatary when you read the links.
When i have time ill be doing a full downgrade and softmod turorial
-
Thanks for the tutorial two questions:
1) Does this work on any wii?
2) Which version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess do I need the one for gamecube or wii?

1) yeah but I believe you'll have to downgrade on 3.3 and above
2)Wii version
Since I wrote this there's a new version of the loader that has higher compatability called Gamma the first link should take you to it
-
Thanks, i read somewhere that you might need the gamecube controller?, also any wii version would be fine?, aslong as its ntsc if you're north america correct?
-
How would you downgrade to an older version of the system menu. Are there files available on the internet?
