Take it apart, dude! It's probably filled with dust on the inside, and the contacts may be dirty.
-
:( the answers to fixing my consoles are always to take it apart. Thanks tho thats how i fixed my DC, is it dangerous?
-
Make sure its not plugged in! lol
Don't be afraid to take things apart, that's the best way to learn how they work! I love taking things apart.
Just make sure you memorize where everything goes, so you can put it back together.

If you guys could find a guide that would be great

just take it apart lol ;)

But you really haven't given us enough information to decipher what the problem is.
There's probably 100 different guides for the 100 different problems it could be.
It could be a blown PSU, it could be that the wires got ripped out from pulling the plug too hard, it could be dirty contacts between the PSU and the motherboard... the list goes on and on.

Alright this is all i know, Its was left on over the weekend in my sisters room, Her rooms is dusty coz she moved out, The playstation is old and it might have been dropped a few times
-
Well, dust + leaving it on for a whole weekend = overheated PSU. That's the best diagnosis I can give you without actually looking at it and testing it myself, and it's a stretch at that.

I take everything like that apart for the hell of it. :P
You should get a degree for taking the PS2 apart - the insides are as ugly and horrible as the outside.
-
just push the eject button 5 times, turn your playstation on and off 2 times, shake it around a bit, listen for anything loose ... then turn it back on ... there, all better! :D
-
Perform surgery on the console. It's not like the thing bleeds. :D

Hear, hear. The prettiest console (internally speaking) is the original XB - gotta love PC-based architecture.
