Is this the full version? The description on megaupload says "rez demo"
I'm assuming its the full game because of the file size

Eh, I put demo in all of the file descriptions so they wouldn't remove it, just ignore anything in the description for my uploads :).

Hey, I got the game downloaded and burned, but I'm having a little trouble. After the echelon logo, the game screen just goes blank after I press start! None of my DCs won't even reset it after I open the drive. Is it because the game is PAL and isn't switching to NTSC or do I have to burn it a certain way? Alcohol 120% burned Outrigger and Unreal Tournament just fine in RAW DAO 8x, does this rip of Rez require different burning methods? Sorry for being a pest, but I've tried everything I can think of to this point.

I actually don't know, I've never had a problem with a PAL game on my NTSC Dreamcast.  There is no US rip of this game, because it was never released in the US.  I suppose you could try a Japanese rip, that might work.

Whoa darkNiGHTS, I never knew Rez wasn't a US release :-* ! That's kinda weird  your DC doesn't have a prob with European DC games. I know there was region protection on the DC, but I guess since it's a cracked rip, that shouldn't matter either way, I need to try burning it again. Maybe using a TAO burn method? TAO is supposed to be better than DAO anyways.

EDIT: Oh, I thought you meant Your DC could play legal DC copies, sorry about that.

Well, burned games always play at 60hz on a Dreamcast console, you would still need a boot disc or modify the Dreamcast hardware to play a legally bought PAL game on an NTSC Dreamcast.

Burn it again maybe it was a bad burn or you burned it too fast

Step One: Get a Dreamcast.
Step Two: Get a VGA box for said Dreamcast.
Step Three: Get Rez.
Step Four: Play at full volume in the dark.

Bliss.

This might be a noob question, but normally, when I try a pal version of a game and it doesn't work I have to scope out the NTSC version. See, I moved out of my parents house and now I have a cheaper and older NTSC Television that does not have Pal support, so some Pal games work, but the image is separated into several horizontal rectangles that constantly shift up and make the games impossible to play. Is there a way to convert Pal format games to NTSC version, or do I have to scope out the NTSC version of games that don't play on my TV in the Pal format (Rez is actually working, thanks for the download by the way, but I have many games that used to work on my parents' newer TV that supports both Pal and NTSC formats that don't work on the TV I'm stuck with now. And if I could afford a better TV, I'd be buying the Dreamcast games instead of downloading them, because I am a firm supporter of Capitalism [as long as it doesn't involve the capitalist snobs])

Thanks a Bunch,
Gorillaman

Do you have a PAL system?

There is no NTSC USA version of this game, the only NTSC version of this game is in Japanese.

I have an NTSC dreamcast, but it plays (burned copies of) Pal games fine on my parents' bigscreen TV once I changed the Video Region setting on the TV from NTSC to Auto-Detect or Pal (I started keeping it on Auto-Detect for obvious ease-of-use reasons) Now that I've got an older TV that doesn't have Pal support, the same copies of the same games used on the same dreamcast get the correct sound with the totally distorted image, and this past weekend I brought it back to my parents house to try it again and they still work correctly on the bigscreen with PAL support. Not only that, I got a DVD Player with both NTSC and PAL support to play movies I import from England, and even with the DVD Player, I get the sound and that same distorted video as on the dreamcast, but I use a program from SlySoft called AnyDVD that not only removes the copy protection, but I can convert PAL DVDs into NTSC Burned copies that work perfectly on any regular DVD player at all on my older TV. So, basically, I need to know if there's a way to convert the PAL format of a dreamcast game into an exact copy that's in NTSC format... because, if so, you could easily convert Europe-only (or PAL-only) releases into US formats (even though on the market they don't exist) like you can with DVDs. I'm sure it's possible, I guess I just want to know if there's a program or a patcher out there that does it, because so far all I've found is a website that offers patches for several specific games that convert NTSC games to PAL format, but not the other way around. Sorry if that's a confusing question, thanks so much to anybody who actually spent the time to read that and wanted to help, despite whether or not they knew how. I appreciate it. In the meantime, if I find something myself, I'll be sure to post the details.

I have a PAL DC connected to my PC monitor.
Although I already have this, it was quicker to DL again
rather than spend the time looking for it! :)

Works perfectly BTW.

Oh, and to those who have a 360:

You'd better spend the 800 points ($10) to get this when it hits XBL.  You'd fucking better.

Definately!!
I've never bought a thing yet from XBL but
that's an absolute must-have.

It's just the same game with a few new sound and graphical effects, in 1080p, in 5.1.   That's totally worth 10 bucks, you cheap fuckers.  :D

Plus, if you back out on Ikaruga for $10, you're one stupid individual.

That's funny because this is a PAL rip.  Did you burn it slowly?

Yeah, I did actually. I'll try it again, maybe i'd been fucking around with the settings. I'll let you know how it went later. Thanks for uploading all these great games by the way, i'd rather own them but some of them, like Rez, are friggin' expensive and hard to get a hold of.  :(

You can check the integrity of the files with it.  Similar to a SFV file.

Friendly reminder:
If you own a 360 and have Live access, get Rez HD.  Please.  For the good of all.

Not-So-Friendly reminder:
If you don't get Rez HD, and spend the ten measly dollars to invest in something amazing, then you deserve to suffer broken thumbs.  Really, you do.  :P

Donkeyboy...does the VGA box make a really big difference?  I was thinking about getting one, but I wasn't sure if it was that big of an upgrade.  Please forgive my noobishness, but I'm new to the DC scene and Rez for that matter.  I missed it on the PS2, but I really like Lumines.   Thanks for the download btw.

I really never saw the huge difference that people talk about. MAYBE it looks a bit better?! How can I know. I'm not a very picky person when it comes to quality or graphics or resolution.

I've never been able to hook my computer up to my TV and make it look good so I don't even know the resolution my TVs VGA hookup is.  I'd love to do a side vy side to check out the difference...maybe one day I will.
