There was some scuttlebutt about "if the Dreamcast were still around, with the (then) new XBOX, would there be a hard drive expansion for the Dreamcast?" I have read various sites and talked with others supposedly in the know about a hard drive or hard drive expansion device for the DC.
Many have told me that the older XBOX was to replace the Dreamcast, and in some ways it did, but at what cost?
I was hoping someone here may finally shed some light on this situation and/or point me in the right direction to get a HDD connected to my beloved DC.
Any information would be appreciated...
Thanks.

I've never heard of this actually speculated since there isn't any sort of hard drive IO at all for the dc

actually, a long time ago, on a website forum called GamesX there was information on how this guy created a hard-drive for the dreamcast...unfortunately, it worked exactly like a memory card, and it replaced your modem, and could only read 26mb of the 4gb hdd (it was a small hdd, shut up :P). got farther than any other DC HDD project thought (there were a few others i believe).

ODCM had something saying there would be compatability with the Iomega zip and jazz drives in the future. no its not a massive hard drive but I think jazz drive is 1 gig or something like that.

jazz drive and GD-rom discs, what the hell is up with sega and who the hell is the person who decides these weird formats?

If there was one I'd just use it to run my games directly anyway.

1gig? My cellphone has better memory than that, but hey it was 2001 or something anyway
