Cdi too big to fit a 700MB disc, dvd disc wont work, help!
« on: December 19, 2007, 08:04:33 PM »
Ok, here's the deal, I've got this CDI that wont fit onto a 700mb disc, I do know that I should burn the cue/bin files onto the CD, problem is.. aint got the cue/bin files either, since the CDI was there when I got the game downloaded. What do I do?

Thanks in advance.

CD-Rs aren't 700mb, they are 80 minutes long and the disc image is most likely less than that so it'll burn fine.  Have you tried burning it?

Thank you very much, I've been looking arround the net to solve this problem all night, now I know for sure it's the CDI image thats broken. Way to go! Props for you!

It's probably OK.
What's the game?

I'm sure I've (over) burned cdi images that are pushing 800mb

If you use alcohol 120%, it will burn fine. The burn size is always less than the actual cdi file size.

Ya Yooooooose!!

mr.giggity is right. The reason why image files are larger than what they contain is because the file is keeping track of all the data inside the file, writing lots of information to be used by image burning programs. I've had images larger than 800 megabytes before and they burn just fine. :)
